Kentmere Pan 200
A welcome new addition to the Kentmere line, Pan 200 strikes an ideal balance between the fine grain of Kentmere 100 and the flexibility of Kentmere 400. Made by Harman Technology (the folks behind Ilford), this medium-speed 200 ISO black-and-white film delivers strong contrast, sharp detail, and surprisingly smooth tones – without needing to push.

We tested it in both 35mm and 120, and it impressed across the board: crisp results on the Nikon FA and F3, and rich, clean tones on the Pentax 67. Highlights can run a touch hot in harsh light, but overall exposure latitude is solid. At just $6.99 a roll, it’s a great all-around choice – especially for budget-minded shooters who want dependable results and great character.

Easily our favorite in the Kentmere lineup.
