Hardly any grain at box speed
I shot my first 120 roll of Delta 3200 and I expected a ton of grain. I developed it with Ilford Ilfotech DD X as per the data sheet and I was shocked at the absence of grain. Way less than Tri-X. 3200 ISO opens so many doors.
Favorite Black and White Film in 120
I shoot HP5 for all of my 35mm black and white needs, but in 120, Delta 3200 has just the right amount of grain and highlight tonality that I’m looking for. I tend to expose for the shadows at 1600 and develop this film at 3200. That’s given me the best results in terms of shadow detail, while still preserving the highlights.
Black and White at Night
If you love the film noir look from cinema, then you love this film in 120. I haven’t tried the 35mm, so my review is based of of 120. I love to shoot this at night on the street. Gritty downtowns look amazing on this film. Perfect for low light situations. I often shoot it at 1600 iso.
