Kodak Kodacolor 200 – 35mm Color Negative Film (C-41 Process)
Kodak Kodacolor 200 is a vibrant and reliable 200 ISO color negative film that delivers rich tones, balanced contrast, and a broad exposure latitude – making it perfect for everyday photography in a wide range of lighting conditions. Whether you’re capturing portraits, street photography, or travel scenes, Kodacolor 200 produces natural colors, smooth grain, and that unmistakable Kodak warmth that’s ideal for both new and experienced film shooters alike.
There’s been a lot of speculation in the film community that Kodak Kodacolor 200 shares the same emulsion as Kodak ColorPlus 200, and while this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Kodak, it wouldn’t be surprising. ColorPlus 200 has long been known to use Kodacolor film stock inside, and when comparing the two side by side, they look nearly identical. The only noticeable difference is that the new Kodacolor 200 is slightly cooler in tone, while ColorPlus 200 (and the older Kodacolor versions) tend to be just a touch warmer – likely due to small variations in batches or a change in the film base. After a quick color correction in post or scanning, the results are virtually indistinguishable.
Regardless of its exact origins, Kodacolor 200 is a beautiful, versatile film that performs well in daylight and mixed lighting, producing pleasing skin tones, crisp detail, and nostalgic Kodak color. We’re thrilled to see Kodak bringing back the Kodacolor name with updated packaging and branding for a new generation of photographers. You can pick up rolls at a great price from The Film Photography Project and experience this modern revival of a classic Kodak favorite.
