Kodak Kodacolor 100 – 35mm Color Negative Film (C-41 Process)
Kodak Kodacolor 100 is a classic 100 ISO color negative film that delivers beautiful warm tones, excellent color saturation, and a broad dynamic range – making it a perfect all-around choice for everyday photography. Whether you’re shooting bright daylight scenes, portraits, or travel photos, Kodacolor 100 produces medium contrast, fine grain, and beautiful color. It’s a reliable, forgiving film that captures natural-looking skin tones and vibrant colors with nostalgic warmth.
There’s been plenty of speculation within the film community that Kodak Kodacolor 100 shares the same emulsion as Kodak Pro Image 100, and based on our side by side tests, we believe that’s likely true. The two look nearly identical in grain, color, contrast, and exposure latitude. The only noticeable difference is that Pro Image 100 appears ever so slightly warmer, while Kodacolor 100 leans just a touch cooler – something easily adjusted in post or during scanning. The similarity in performance leads us to think this is essentially the same beloved Pro Image 100 formula under the revived Kodacolor name, perhaps with a subtle tweak to the film base or coating.
Regardless of its exact origins, Kodacolor 100 is a beautiful film that is well-suited for bright outdoor light, portraits, and travel photography, and we’re thrilled to see Kodak investing in fresh packaging and branding for a new generation of film shooters.
