Go to film for pinhole photography
Kentmere Pan 100 has become my go to film for pinhole photography. It has great contrast giving rich blacks and good highlights. It has a good exposure latitude, which I find essential with pinhole photography. I shoot a lot of seascapes and landscapes and find exposing for the mid tones gives me good balanced exposure on both the sky and foreground. It is an affordable film which is important to me as I’m out with my camera frequently.
An instant Favorite
Kentmere Pan 100 became an instant favorite of mine when I got my first roll of scans. The subtle detail captured in 35mm as well as a nice even balance of tones made beautiful images. There was some shadow detail loss, but for the price, I would argue there is no better option for someone wanting to try their first roll of black and white film.
Great film for a great price
I picked up this film with low expectations, but after shooting a roll and developing it, I was pleasantly surprised. With it being a 100 speed film, it has super sharp images and low grain. My only complaint, is that the shadows seem to lack some detail, but nothing too major.
