Mellow Midtone
Just got my first roll developed by the Darkroom and minus some unexplained streaking I’d say it came out good. One thing I’ve noticed across the board is it loves midtone grays. I don’t have one too punchy contrasty photo in the lot and I shot it at a very sunny day with some harsh shadows. It fills a nice space in the BW film spectrum as it is pretty mellow but renders sharp and quality images. Would shoot some more of it in the future.
Contrast w Strong Blacks
I’ve used a few rolls of Potsdam, and have had mixed results. Shot some super shots of cypress along the shoreline in the fog with good diffused light, but results weren’t as good when I had stronger light and harder shadows. Was going to give it 3-stars and then I remembered the cypress shots, and those were winners. So 4-stars it is. (The rating here in the Film Index is a 3 for Contrast, I would give it a 4)
