Warmer tones and a feeling of nostalgia
This is my favorite film stock to shoot and it’s larger grain paired with its color grading give photos a nostalgic framing. I think it also gives a vibrant but natural look to greens and nature shots if that’s what you’re into. Night shots with flash turn out wonderful as the saturation packs a punch and leaves wonderful contrast with the darker parts of photos too!
Amazing in sunlight
I am absolutely in love with this film. The colors really pop when the sun is shining. Lomo 400 will have your back in a variety of scenarios.
Fantastic all around film
Considering how expensive a lot of film is getting in general, but especially Kodak film stocks, Lomo 400 is now my absolute go-to color film. Really fantastic exposure latitude and beautiful color saturation. It seems to be very flattering on skin tones in particular and has a dreamy, sparkly sort of quality that really enhances photos. I now choose to shoot this over Ektar, particularly because Ektar HAS to be shot in bright daylight but also can be hard to find. Lomo 400 is much easier to shoot, has similar saturation, and is often cheaper and easier to find. Win-win. I am shooting on a Pentax K-1000.
MY FAV!!!
I use an Olympus superzoom70 35mm point n shoot and lomo 400 produces warm images with richened colors and sepia tones in dark and night flash photos. Also great bang for its buck its one of the cheapest films on Amazon!
Great value 400 speed colour film
I tried Lomo 400 as a cheaper alternative to Portra and i wasn’t disappointed! The results are not quite as consistent but each roll is around half the price.
Good film!
Takes great pictures on sunny or overcast days. I liked its contrast and the colors were saturated the way I like without touching up the picture.
Rich color and contrast. A go to color film
Lomography 400 is a personal favorite of mine. My digital photography is generally quite contrasty with rich saturation and I find Lomo 400 helps me achieve similar results but with a true ‘film look’ to the images. A subtle grain especially when shooting towards light adds a beautiful airy feel to shots. All in all its a film i would highly recommend if you want rich color and deep but controlled contrast. See ‘user photos’ for a couple of examples I shot as a test roll in a thrift store Canon AE-1
Economically Saturated
Affordable and full of saturation. Great for pushing and pulling, lots of latitude. Because of its affordability, it is a great film to experiment with in either 120 or 35 mm.
